Boost your immunity for Flu Season…

It’s that time of year again and flu season is upon us and we want to try out best to keep those coughs and colds at bay by boosting our immune systems!

Here are a few fitness related tips to help you…

1. Eat A Healthy Diet: make sure you’re getting a variety of fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. You could include immune-boosting foods such as garlic, ginger, citrus fruits, yogurt, and green leafy vegetables.

2. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day!

3. Get Plenty Of Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. A well-rested body is better equipped to fight off infections!

4. Regular Exercise: Try to exercise 3 times a week and get in some walks outside in the fresh air too if you can! Exercise can help boost your immune system by promoting good circulation and supporting a healthy inflammatory response.

5. Manage Stress: being chronically stressed can weaken the immune system. Practice stress-reducing techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, yoga, mindfulness or punching stuff at MegaBox… nudge nudge wink wink!

6. Vitamins: Ensure you are getting enough Vitamins in your diet which you can do by maintaining a healthy diet and also by taking multi-vitamins.
For a start, Vitamin D is extremely important throughout the winter months for immune function - it’s important to make sure you’re getting enough in your system either through sunlight exposure or taking tablets.
If you’re feeling under the weather then getting Vitamin C into your system will help you recover and start feeling better!

Remember that no single lifestyle change or supplement can guarantee immunity, and it's important to maintain a holistic approach to health. If you have any specific health concerns or conditions, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for personalised advice.
